19 August 2007 – New address of FormosaHost representative office

Rounding of the integration with MTIC, which acquired FormosaHost earlier this year, the Taiwan representative office of FormosaHost has moved to its new location opposite the Taipei WTC; No. 420, Sec. 1, Keelung Rd., FormosaHosts new telephone number will be +886 (2) 8789-3132.

30 July 2007 – New FormosaHost data centre now operational

After several months of planning FormosaHost has successfully moved to a new Tier-II data centre with minimal disruption for our clients. FormosaHost sincerely apologizes for some brief but unavoidable service interruptions.

Between 10pm Friday and 6am on Monday all hosting equipment and services were moved in stages to our new data centre. We thank all partners involved for their help in making a smooth transition.

A special thanks to our backbone providers Sparq, TTN and Chunghwa Telecom for moving our fibre optic connections in close coordination with our IT staff, resulting in minimal downtime for our clients.

With a new data centre FormosaHost will be able to guarantee 99.99% real uptime for its regular hosting services. In addition the new hosting centre will also benefit another MTIC subsidiary: www.Sat2Me.com specializes in space shifting systems. Sat2Me provides satellite TV though IP service to clients unable to have a satellite dish on their building, or clients who are simply “over the horizon”.

Streaming high-quality, high-resolution video signals requires large amounts of bandwidth; Sat2Me clients will therefore benefit from FormosaHost’s new high-connectivity tier-II data centre.

18 June 2007 – Russian Representative Office to contract FormosaHost for its hosting

The Representative Office in Taipei for the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, the defacto Russian embassy in Taiwan, has announced that FormosaHost was able to fulfil all the TMC requirements in terms of service and security. FormosaHost is pleased to welcome this latest client.

20 June 2007 – FormosaHost to move to new tier-II data centre

As part of its continuing efforts to improve its services and quality, FormosaHost has made the decision to move to a new data centre. As part of the implementation of a new corporate strategy following the acquisition of FormosaHost by MTIC, several facets of FormosaHost’s structure were earmarked for significant upgrades. This meant that FormosaHost’s current data centre was not expected to be able to handle increased demands beyond Q4 of 2007. Moving to a new data centre will allow FormosaHost to continue to grow strongly, as well as offer better quality to its current clients.

17 June 2007 – New Look and Design of the FormosaHost web site

FormosaHost is pleased to announce the new look and design of its web site. In response to market demand FormosaHost has expanded its range of products, and added several new services. In addition to the web solutions FormosaHost already offered, such as domain name registration, web design, web localization, web hosting and email hosting, FormosaHost now also offers SSL certificates and SEO (Search Engine Optimization. FormosaHost is aiming to be a full-service, single-window solution provider for all web and email solutions.

3 May 2007 – FormosaHost acquired by the MTIC group

After several rounds of friendly negotiations FormosaHost, an Immediate Media Services subsidiary, has been acquired by the MTIC group. This acquisition will have positive consequences for both our current and future clients. In response to market demands FormosaHost continuously strives to offer a wider choice of services and improved quality. Teaming up with MTIC means FormosaHost will be able to strengthen its backbone, and offer more and better services we previously were not able to offer. By being able to integrate MTIC’s strength and resources MTIC, FormosaHost will be able to deliver web localization of international quality, as well as on-line publishing. MTIC is well-established, with localization and print-publishing as its core-strengths. We all strongly believe the sum of MTIC and FormosaHost will be more than the sum of its components. The acquisition will take effect immediately; all FormosaHost staff will remain und FormosaHost management until both company structures will be fully integrated, which is expected to be by the end of Q2.

1 April 2007 – AnimalsTaiwan to receive sponsor package

AnimalsTaiwan (www.animalsTaiwan.org) is a Taiwanese non-profit animal welfare charity. FormosaHost is pleased to be able to assist AnimalsTaiwan with its IT and hosting needs as part of its ongoing charity program.

AnimalsTaiwan is a Taiwanese charity dedicated to improving the livelihood and treatment of animals in Taiwan. They aim to find solutions for the problem of pet overpopulation through educational activities, adoption efforts and outreach programs.

For 2007 FormosaHost will provide AnimalsTaiwan with free hosting and IT support, as well as donate a networked copier/printer and several workstations.

5 January 2007 – Jane Goodall Institute sponsor package continued

The Jane Goodall Institute (www.goodall.org) is a well-known, worldwide non-profit animal welfare charity.

FormosaHost is pleased to continue and extend its IT and hosting support package for the Jane Goodall Institute Taiwan as part of its ongoing charity program.

For 2007 FormosaHost will continue to provide JGI Taiwan with free hosting and IT support, for it high-bandwidth web site and email accounts.
